For a RAID or LVM comprised of several EBS volumes, not only that you have to freeze all and snapshot together, you have to be able to restore all together as well, which even complicates matters more. For a RAID or LVM comprised of several EBS volumes, not only that you have to freeze all and snapshot together, you have to be able to restore all together as well, which even complicates matters more.

Let’s hope Amazon will roll out an option to snapshot/restore multiple volumes within the API.

A coherent snapshot of multiple EBS volumes would need to freeze them all simultaneously and snapshot them together before unfreezing them. Thanks for the script.
